taste of tampaThe Taste of Tampa is a New Tampa tradition that the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce has hosted as a fundraiser for years. This year, the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce has decided that they would prefer not to host any large events, including the Taste of New Tampa event.

That decision left New Tampa in search of a new venue and organization to take the helm. One club jumped at this opportunity and is taking on the challenging task of putting on the 21st annual Taste of New Tampa event – the New Tampa Rotary Club.

Expectations are high as this popular event nears. On Saturday, March 18, the new Florida Hospital Center Ice will take place from noon to 4:00 pm.
Why should you attend this year’s Taste of New Tampa event?

1. CHANGE OF VENUE
The 2017 Taste of New Tampa event will not be held outdoors. This means that neither a torrential downpour nor excessive heat and humidity will ruin your event. Instead, you will be indoors, in a climate-controlled area surrounding the ice rink.

2. LARGE SELECTION OF DELICIOUS FOOD
With the chance of rain, heat, and humidity gone, more vendors have signed up for this event, and you no longer have to worry about them backing out or food being ruined due to the weather. Already, more than forty food vendors have signed up to attend.

Just picture yourself milling about the ice center, in a controlled climate, sampling all of the delicious food and drinks that forty, fifty or even more vendors have to offer. Whether you love Italian, Thai, Cuban, ice cream, and desserts, or any other favorite delicacy, it will all be right there for your sampling pleasure.

3. THIS IS A FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR A GOOD CAUSE
You will enjoy yourself so much, that it may slip your mind the real reason why you are attending this event. It’s not really for the food, drink, and mingling you will be doing. The real reason you are there is to support the nonprofit organizations in the area. Among this twenty-five to thirty nonprofit groups, the New Tampa Rotary has taken particular interest in the Meals on Wheels project composed of four mobile food pantries.
