This weekend, Dade City will host the 20th Annual Kumquat Festival on January 28th, 2017 starting at 9 am until 5 pm. Established by the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce, this event celebrates everything that makes Dade City unique and is full of family fun and “old Florida” charm. This one-day event entertains as many as 40,000 people every year with the help of over 425 vendors. The festival is named after the local fruit and is a free event for residents and visitors. Come join the fun and taste a variety of kumquat treats. Vendors serve everything you can think of that can be kumquat flavored; pies, ice cream, cookies, salsa, marmalade, and even kumquat smoothies! Listen to music from local entertainers, view antique cars, shop for arts & crafts, even get the kids’ faces painted, all while enjoying the kumquat goodies!
There is something for everyone at the Kumquat Festival. This year will feature a Festival Car & Truck Show, a Miss & Mr Kumquat Festival pageant, a Festival Quilt Challenge, a 5 Kumquat Run, and a Kumquat Kids’ Corral!
There is no charge to attend Dade City’s Annual Kumquat Festival® and parking is free with complimentary transportation from two satellite parking areas. If you are traveling from I75, head east on hwy 52 to Downtown Dade city. There will be free satellite parking at the Pasco Fairgrounds on hwy 52 with a free shuttle from the parking lot to the festivities. If you are coming from US hwy 301, head toward downtown Dade city and look for the free satellite parking across from Jarrett Ford with free shuttles to the event.
