Pasco County, Florida is less than 40 minutes away from the infamous giant Tampa Bay. However, this community is nothing to gawk at. With 485,331 residents in this community, it is no surprise that a new outlet mall needed to be built. And as the saying goes ‘Go Big or Go Home.’

Tampa Premium Outlets opened October 29, 2015, at the junction of Interstate 75 and State Road 56 in sunny Florida with over 100 retail shops and restaurants. The retail stores ranged from the Disney to Guess Jeans to Toys R Us just in time for 2015 Black Friday. Although this outlet held one grand opening of 441,000 square feet of shopping space, if plans go through, this will be the place to shop next year during the holiday season.

Sierra Properties owns acreage on both sides of State road 56, including 40 acres on the south side next to Interstate 75 as well as 170 acres on the North side of 56 and have plans to dramatically change the landscape in the coming year. Two hotels are in the process of being developed as well as 600,000 square feet are zoned for retail. 56,000 square feet are set aside for restaurants that will include Culver’s, Panda Express, BJ’s Chick-Fil-A and Cheddar’s Casual Cafe, Costco and a movie theater all which are in some stage of development. Even Kohl’s has submitted a proposal and is still pending approval.

As with job placement, 630 multifamily residential units will be added to the area to accommodate the growth of Tampa Premium Outlet Mall.

2016 will be a big year for this community with Mercedes-Benz in the plans of building a dealership on the east side of the interchange as well as Richard E. Jacobs Group and Sierra Properties planning to build an ice hockey and skating complex. The Tampa Premuim Outlet will have a huge impact on the community.
